It includes 40% whey protein and an increased amount of sulfur-containing amino acids, such as cysteine. Meiji BIG is fortified with DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) which plays a vital role in brain and retinal development. Meiji BIG includes Milk-phospholipids to promote concentration of DHA in the body. Meiji BIG contains a balanced ratio of a-linolenic acid (omega-3) and linoleic acid (omega-6), which are the precursors of docosahexaenioc acid (DHA) and arachidonic acid (ARA), respectively, and vital for cerebral and retinal development. Meiji BIG contains FOS (Fructo-oligosachharides) which can be utilized by intestinal bifidobacteria in infants and promotes growth of good bacteria. FOS also helps in inhibiting growth of pathogenic intestinal bacteria .
